INGREDIENTS

16 oz (1 box) dry enriched penne pasta, uncooked

½ cup chopped onions, raw

3 cloves chopped garlic, raw

1 pound 95% lean ground beef, uncooked

1 cup jarred ready-to-serve pasta sauce

5 tbsp shredded Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper (to taste)

PREPARATION

Prepare pasta as directed. While pasta is cooking, heat a skillet to medium heat. Coat with nonstick spray and sauté garlic and onions until softened, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and sauté until almost fully cooked, about 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

While beef is cooking, drain pasta. Add to beef mixture. Add pasta sauce, mixing thoroughly. Continue cooking until beef is completely cooked, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Divide pasta and beef mixture into five equal portions (about 2 cups each). Place each portion on a plate and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese.
